David is the founder and managing partner of Blumberg Capital. David is an authority on early stage investing with decades of experience. He founded Blumberg Capital in the early 1990s and launched its first venture-backed fund in 2001.
Prior to Blumberg Capital, David managed international investments with the Bronfman Family Office, Adler & Co, APAX Partners and at T. Rowe Price. He also launched business development for Check Point Software Technologies as one of its top four executives.
David earned his A.B. in Government, cum laude, from Harvard College and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and INSEAD. David speaks French and is proficient in Hebrew and Spanish.
Matt is a principal based in Blumberg Capital’s San Francisco office. He brings more than 10 years of experience working with entrepreneurs and startups as both a founder and a venture capitalist.
Prior to Blumberg Capital, Matt worked with Correlation Ventures, a quantitative venture capital firm, and Greycroft Partners, a digital media VC. Matt previously founded two technology companies in the enterprise software and tech-enabled services sectors. Additional experience includes new product development at LinkedIn and strategy consulting with the Monitor Group.
Matt earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and his B.S. in mathematics from Brown University.
Peter is a data analyst at Blumberg Capital, based in San Francisco. Peter supports the firm’s data initiatives and provides insights on portfolio, fund and investment decisions. He brings experience in data science and financial analysis to the team.
Before joining Blumberg Capital, Peter co-started a new strategy and profitability team at Santander, the second largest bank in Europe, and managed data centralization initiatives with python and SQL. Prior, he supported Santander’s revenue forecasting team as a quantitative analyst responsible for building and stress testing the firm’s macroeconomic financial and statistical models.
Peter holds a B.S. in economics with a double major in finance and management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
John is an associate at Blumberg Capital, based in San Francisco. John connects with entrepreneurs, researches potential new investments, supports portfolio companies and develops emerging investment roadmaps.
Prior to joining Blumberg Capital, John was an engineer at Google where he worked on cloud infrastructure products for Google Cloud Platform. He was also previously a product development engineer at Verizon Terremark. Earlier in his career, John was the technical co-founder for a mobile payments startup in China.
John holds bachelor’s degrees in computer science, economics and electrical and computer engineering, from Duke University.
Steve is the chief operating officer (COO) and chief financial officer (CFO) at Blumberg Capital. Based in San Francisco, he brings extensive operating and board experience from his years in venture capital leading high growth startups through acquisitions and IPO preparation, and from his time in senior-level finance and operating positions with publicly traded companies.
Prior to joining Blumberg Capital, Steve served as CFO at Azure Capital Partners and was previously CFO at e-commerce startup Mercantila, CFO/COO at marketing technology company Fathom Online and CFO at e-commerce company Alibris.
Steve earned his MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.S. in accountancy from the University of Illinois.
Chris is a principal based in Blumberg Capital’s San Francisco office. He brings more than 14 years of experience as an investor, entrepreneur, operational executive and investment banker within the technology space.
Prior to Blumberg Capital, Chris worked at Menlo Ventures where he pursued investment opportunities in mobile, Internet, gaming, software, and e-commerce.
Before joining Menlo Ventures, Chris served as the director of corporate development & analytics at PlayPhone. In this role he was responsible for M&A sourcing and execution, strategic partnerships, and improving operational metrics. Chris also worked as an investment banking analyst in the TMT group at Cowen and Company where he completed a number of M&A and equity transactions in the digital media and communications equipment sectors. Chris began his career at Intel as an operations financial analyst within the Flash Products Division. In addition, Chris has consulted for several technology startups including Gilt Groupe and ngmoco.
Chris holds an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona and a B.A. with a double major in economics and political science from the University of California, Davis. Chris was selected as a Kauffman Finalist in 2012.
Yodfat is a managing director at Blumberg Capital, based in Tel Aviv. Yodfat is an experienced investor and board member with a successful track record in management, business development, marketing and strategic planning in North America, Europe and Asia.
Prior to joining Blumberg Capital, Yodfat ran her own investing and consulting business. Previously, she was managing director of Tamares Capital Ltd, a large international private investment fund with holdings in technology, media, manufacturing and real estate. Earlier, Yodfat served as corporate director and head of the medical and venture capital groups at at Orbotech LTD (add ticker), a world leader in automated inspection for printed circuit boards and panel displays.
She also previously served as managing director at Harel-Hertz Investment House Ltd. managing investment and business development for Japanese and Israeli corporations and as chief advisor to ITX-Corporation, a leading Japanese electronics conglomerate listed on NASDAQ Japan.
Yodfat serves on the board of directors of Israel Discount Bank, the third largest in the nation and serves as an industry representative on the National Labor Court.
In addition, Yodfat serves on the board of MAOZ, a non-profit leadership network advancing Israel’s socio-economic development.

Yodfat earned her executive MBA from Bradford University School of Management in Great Britain and her B.A. in communications and political science from Bar-Ilan University. She has also completed advanced programs in director studies, mediation, advertising and marketing.
Gloria is director of operations for Blumberg Capital. Gloria brings more than 20 years of experience in operations, human resources and administration across venture capital firms, Silicon Valley startups and real estate management.
Prior to joining Blumberg Capital, Gloria held positions at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Qspeed Semiconductor, Electric Cloud and Mayfield Fund, amongst others.
Andrea is the head of marketing and communications for Blumberg Capital. In her role, she drives all marketing strategy and activities for the firm and provides marketing support for its portfolio companies.
Andrea brings more than 14 years of experience across corporate marketing, corporate communications, public relations, analyst relations, crisis communications, customer marketing, event marketing/planning and social media.
Prior to joining Blumberg Capital, Andrea held global leadership positions at cloud startups SuccessFactors (acquired by SAP) and Deem. In addition, she previously led corporate affairs for Alibaba.com in the Americas, managed public relations for Disney’s Family Group of websites and worked for a variety of consumer, healthcare, sports/fitness and technology companies while at PR agencies. Andrea began her career in communications and Internet marketing for the Portland Trail Blazers.
Andrea holds a M.A. in strategic public relations from the University of Southern California and B.A., in communications, magna cum laude, from Portland State University.
Idan is a principal at Blumberg Capital, based in Tel Aviv. Idan led computer science R&D teams and the largest cyber operations project in Unit 8200 of the Israel Defense Forces. His areas of expertise include cybersecurity, AI, medical technology, FinTech and enterprise software.
Before joining Blumberg Capital, Idan was a cyber researcher for Sygnia by Team8, a cyber technology and services company. He was also a scientific advisor to several biotech companies.
Idan earned an MBA, completed the pre-clinical phase of his MD-PhD and earned an MSc in computer science and bioinformatics from Tel Aviv University. He also has undergraduate degrees in biology, computer science and mathematics from The Open University of Israel.
Ehud Schneorson is a managing director at Blumberg Capital, based in Tel Aviv. Ehud recently retired as Brigadier General and commander of Unit 8200 in the Israel Defense Forces, one of the world’s elite intelligence and cyber agencies.
Over 30 years, he managed tens of thousands of the most elite developers, technologists and intelligence staff. His command accomplished incredible feats of technological prowess, developing cutting edge AI, big data, software, networking, cybersecurity and telecommunications solutions.
Ehud has an MSc in geophysics and planetary science and a B.A. in history, both from the Tel Aviv University.
Patrick is an advisor and chair of Blumberg Capital’s CIO Council.
Patrick brings more than 47 years of experience in healthcare, insurance, corporate retail, wholesale, supply chain, merchandising and information technology (IT) functions.
He recently retired as executive vice president and CIO for Delta Dental of California and a member of its senior executive management team. Prior to Delta Dental, he was involved in consulting and business development, and was active in establishing several technology companies that serve the retail sector.
Patrick spent the first 35 years of his career at Albertsons, with 11 years spent in senior executive roles.
Patrick holds a B.A. in Business Administration and a B.S. in Mathematics, both from the University of Washington.
Bruce is a managing director at Blumberg Capital with more than 25 years experience as a venture capital investor, entrepreneur, technology investment banker and corporate attorney.
Prior to joining Blumberg Capital, Bruce co-founded and held several senior management positions within technology companies including Charles River Computers. Bruce also structured and managed early-stage technology transactions at Hambrecht & Quist, Mayer Brown & Platt and Bankers Trust Company.
A native of New York, Bruce earned his B.A. in finance and communications, cum laude, from Yeshiva University, and his MBA and J.D. from Fordham University.
Bruce serves as a member or observer on the board of directors of Arcadia Data, BioCatch, Braze, Coverhound, Nexla, Revionics, SAM Seamless Network, Sealights, Solomoto and WorkJam. He also serves on the board and the investment monitoring committee of the Jewish Community Foundation of Northern California.
