Our Logo
This Leonardo da Vinci image was chosen as the inspiration for the Blumberg Capital Logo because, to us, it symbolizes our support of entrepreneurs during the ups and downs of their start-up stage, and graphically reminds us of the spirit of invention which continues throughout history. It is a drawing of a flying machine - the man in the center sphere staying upright no matter what direction the wind blows.
This is the original image as it appears in the top half in his manuscript with a translation of the text which accompanies it.
"Make an instrument (machine) like the one in the drawing and make it with silk or fine transparent linen, ropes, bamboo(reeds) and horn, palings, sticks. Its diameter will be 20 elbow spans or more. In the center place a perforated ball (sphere) made of green hoops of elm. The ball will be assembled like the box (chamber) of a compass, and in the center of the ball there will be a man. Place the instrument in the wind at the top of a mountain and it will follow the course of the wind and the man in the middle will remain upright at all times."
